Where your confidence comes from
How it shows up
About this assessment. It is built on my BSc Honours research in Psychology at the University of Zimbabwe (2021), which explored the nature and sources of student leaders' self-efficacy: their belief that they can lead and make a difference. It also draws on psychologist Albert Bandura's theory of self-efficacy.
The leaders I interviewed showed me that confidence isn't fixed. Several began with self-doubt, feeling unqualified or held back by other people's opinions, and grew into confident leaders through three things: a track record of small wins, role models whose journeys looked like theirs, and people who told them it was possible. The first four foundations measure those sources, plus steadiness under pressure. The last three measure how confidence shows up in your leadership.
